What we are for

Africa pays more to move its own money than any other region on earth. As of early 2025, sending $200 to Sub-Saharan Africa cost 8.78% on average — close to triple the United Nations target of 3%. In three of every four corridors it costs more than 10%.

That money leaves the households least able to lose it. A payment between two African countries routinely routes through Europe or North America, converting to dollars and back, paying spread twice and waiting days to settle. The expense is structural, not incidental.

Majestic exists to make African value move on African rails.

The ambition

The immediate objective is narrow and measurable: move value across African borders faster and more cheaply than correspondent banking does today.

The longer objective is that this infrastructure becomes common enough to serve as shared monetary rails across the continent — a universal African currency layer.

We are precise about what that means. Majestic does not seek to replace national currencies. Monetary sovereignty belongs to states and their central banks. What we provide is a settlement and transfer layer that works alongside national currencies — the rails beneath the money, not a replacement for it. Continental payment infrastructure is already a priority for African institutions, and Majestic is built to complement that direction.

A currency becomes universal because enough people find it useful, not because anyone declares it so. Each working corridor, each merchant accepting settlement, each government using the rails for disbursement is a step. There is no shortcut, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Leadership

Solomon Mwamba Wa Ngoy is CEO and Founder of Majestic Chain Technologies. He has represented the project at the United Nations General Assembly, at blockchain summits in Dubai and Lusaka, and in government engagements across the continent. He is an enstooled chief in Ghana.

Where we are now

Majestic is migrating from its original sovereign chain to a zero-knowledge rollup built on Polygon CDK. Existing holders verify their holdings and receive corresponding tokens on the new network. The verification window opened in late July 2026 and closes at the end of September 2026.
