Before anything else
Nobody from Majestic will ever ask for your seed phrase or private key. Not by email, not by WhatsApp, not by phone, not on any website. Anyone who asks is trying to steal from you, whatever they claim to be offering. Announcements appear only on this website.
Why we are moving
The original Majestic Chain was a network we ran ourselves. Running it meant running the validators, the explorer, the endpoints and the infrastructure underneath all of it — and the cost and fragility of that grew heavier over time. When the network was halted, wallets that depended on those services stopped working, which is precisely the weakness that made the decision for us.
Polygon removes that dependency. It is a mature, widely used network that we do not have to keep alive ourselves, with transaction costs low enough that moving value is measured in fractions of a cent. The coins stay yours; what changes is the ground they stand on.
What carries over
Balances migrate one for one. The amount of MJT and MJX recorded against your address on the final state of Majestic Chain is the amount you will be able to claim on Polygon. There is no ratio, no adjustment, and no reduction.
That final recorded state is public. You can check any address now, without a wallet and without entering anything private:
What does not carry over
Two categories of holding existed only as internal accounting on the old network, and they will not be recreated on Polygon. We would rather set this out plainly now than have it discovered later.
Unwithdrawn staking rewards
The old chain minted new coins continuously as an inflation mechanism, and those accrued to a small number of validator accounts that were never part of any public staking programme. No staking product was ever offered to holders, and none of these rewards were ever withdrawn. They existed as a protocol entry on a network that is now halted, and they will not be issued on the new one.
The community pool and protocol accounts
Certain balances sat in accounts belonging to the protocol itself rather than to any person — the community pool and the staking pools among them. These addresses are generated from the software, not from anyone's private key, so nobody holds or ever held the means to control them. They are not migrated.
The exact figures behind both categories — and the full reconciliation of MJT and MJX supply against the final chain export — are set out in the supply, state and security review, along with what we found wrong with the old system when we examined it.
How you will claim
There are two routes, because Majestic had two kinds of holder. Neither is open yet, and both will be announced here before they are.
If you held coins in your own wallet
Your claim is proved by your key. You will connect the wallet holding your original address, confirm the balance shown, and choose where the new coins should be sent — the same address, or a fresh wallet if you prefer. Gas costs are paid by Majestic, so you will not need to hold any other currency to claim.
If you cannot open Majestic Wallet, there is a fix and instructions for backing up your seed phrase. Do that before anything else — your seed phrase is what lets you claim from any wallet you choose.
If you held coins on the Majestic exchange
Exchange balances were held in custody, so there is no key of yours to sign with — what identifies you is the email address on the account. You will verify that email, then nominate a wallet you control, and the coins will be sent there. Never to an old deposit address, which was assigned by the exchange and was never truly yours.
Timing
The migration is built and being tested. We are not publishing a date, because a date creates pressure to launch before the testing is finished, and this is not something to be rushed.
There will be a generous window to claim once it opens — measured in months, not days — and it will be announced here first. Nothing expires without notice.
How to avoid impersonators
Migrations attract fraud. Expect fake claim sites, fake support accounts and messages urging you to act quickly. The claim page will be linked from this website and nowhere else. We will never contact you first asking for anything, we will never ask you to "verify" a wallet by entering a seed phrase, and there is no urgency that requires you to bypass checking here first.
Questions can go to info@majesticchain.io. We will never ask for your seed phrase in that conversation either — any message that does is not from us, regardless of the address it appears to come from.
This page describes a technical migration of existing balances between networks. It is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security or financial instrument. MJT and MJX confer no entitlement to revenue, profit, or distribution of any kind, and no return is offered, promised or implied. Details of the migration remain subject to change until the claim process opens.
